Humbar for macOS
The notch,
put to work.
Synced lyrics, messages you can answer, a hub of everyday tools — and your AI agents asking for permission right next to the camera.
Free & open source · macOS 15.4+ · Apple Silicon
Hover the island — it opens like the real one.
Music & lyrics
Every word, right where you look.
Sung, word by word.
The line being sung sits just under the camera, and the words light up as they’re sung.
Any player. Four lyrics sources.
Yandex Music, Spotify, Apple Music or a song in a browser tab. Lyrics come from Yandex Music, LRCLIB, NetEase and Kugou — so even fresh releases are covered.

AI agents
Your agent asks.
You answer from the notch.
Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Droid — no more hunting for the right terminal tab.
Allow. Always. Deny.
Approve a command once, remember the rule, or deny it with a comment the agent will read.
What each agent can do here.
Connect them one by one in Settings → AI Agents.

Small chips for the things that run.
Timers, calls, working agents, Keep Awake, the microphone and camera — each gets a chip beside the island.
The hub
Everything else,
one hover away.
Hover the notch or swipe down with two fingers.
Now playing with lyrics — or your week, weather and battery when nothing plays.
⌃⌥K opens the command palette.
Small islands
The little things,
done beautifully.
Charging, Caps Lock, Focus, downloads, drives with an Eject button, AirPods, calls, long zsh commands — and volume and brightness in the notch instead of the system overlay.

Privacy
Only what a feature needs
ever leaves your Mac.
Humbar has no server. Nothing about you is collected — there’s nowhere to send it.
No server. No analytics. No Keychain.
There is no Humbar backend and no account to create.
Lyrics lookups stay minimal.
Sources get the title, artist and duration — nothing else. Lyrics aren’t saved to disk.
Hooks stay on 127.0.0.1.
Agents talk to Humbar on your Mac only, guarded by a random per-install token.
Your configs, untouched — until you say so.
Files change only when you click Connect, after a backup. Disconnect removes exactly Humbar’s entries.
Every line is public.
Read the source on GitHub or build the app yourself.
Open source
Free. Open.
Yours to change.
